Company Overview Wal-Mart is an American corporation that runs a chain of large discount department stores. Wal-Mart has supercenters that are combined discount stores and grocery stores. Its smaller food and drug outlets are also offering a selection of general merchandise. Branches of the company spread all across in the world and it is one of the highest private employers in the US. It has more than 1.2 million workers (Wal-Mart, 2010).

Business Assignment

I am interested in gaining employment in Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is known for creating numerous employment opportunities. There are several employment opportunities in different departments and segments. There are jobs for managers, advertising or marketing, optometrists, doctors, web developer or a web designer and computer programmer. Company recruits those people for its stores, who have excellent communication skills and good administrative skills. The focus of Wal-Mart’s business is of great interest to me. It offers low price products through the discounter’s in store vision. The company keeps its eye focused on customer’s interest in special service. As my interest is to work with that company which has concern for customers and provide low cost products, so due to this reason, I want to joint this retail giant. The mission of the company is to enhance and integrate their supplier diversity programs and make growth through the expansion of its business. It is the major area of my interest for joining Wal-Mart and do work with this company. Wal-Mart works to help every associate feel fulfilled, motivated and empowered in their careers. There are several resources for gathering the information related to employment opportunities in Wal-Mart.
